I am grateful for books. That my parents taught me how to appreciate reading. I am grateful for the feeling you get when you open your old favourite book and find pieces of your younger self preserved between the pages. I am grateful that when life gets too tough, I can turn to my favourite characters to welcome me into their world with open arms. But mostly I am grateful that although so many people take it for granted, I have the ability to read when a lot of people in this world do not, and I’m grateful that you’ve given me a chance to remind myself of this.

I feel so grateful that our little boy is in our lives. He ‘chose’ us to be his parents and when times get hard (which are often with a toddler) I think of all the people who want a child so badly and it can not happen for them. It makes me feel grateful that our son is with us.

Wow. Firstly and continusouly I am grateful to my family for their acceptance, support and unconditional love. I’ve recently come to realise how grateful I am to my body – the legs the take me places, my eyes that see light through the darkness, my fingers for the ability to even type this email, the list could go on and on. But if I had to choose just one thing it would be my daughter’s attitude, some may call her a dawdler but she’s an observer and she constantly reminds me to take the time to smell the roses

  • Bron Moresby-White

I am grateful for many wonderful things in my life, my beautiful family, good health, and being afforded the freedoms that Australia offers. But the thing that has helped me discover inner peace, is my camera. Photography is the only place where my mind and thoughts are free of any other thoughts. When everyone is in bed, It’s me, my camera, and the night sky. I become completely immersed in what I’m doing. It brings me a great sense of calm and peace. It’s my place of zen.

I am grateful for so much. My 10 year old daughter who is my earth angel and the sunshine of my life, my ability to continually see the shiny side of life beyond the health issues that have been part of my journey for 20 years so far, my beautiful extended family, especially my 88 year old Nana and 86 year old Grandma, and particularly, right now, for the successful bone marrow transplant my 28 year old cousin has just had. So much to be grateful for. Really, I’m so grateful I happened to flick on 774 ABC Melbourne the other day to catch your interview with Raf, so now I know about your book. Thank you!
